Electrical/Controls Engineer
An expanding product line has created a new position for a controls engineer. Includes design and commissioning of automated process controls including PLC and HMI programming and instrumentation systems. Requires a strong technical background, customer orientation, and the ability to work independently. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Computer Skills Required: CAD, Spreadsheet, Word Processing, PLC and HMI Programming Software
Travel Required: Yes - 25%
Description of Duties:
-Design, programming, and commissioning of automation systems for mechanical equipment and process control.
-Assist sales department in providing system performance capabilities and adapting standard designs to meet specific customer requirements.
-Interpret customer specifications and contract documents to develop preliminary system design and cost estimates for use by sales department in project pricing and quotation.
-Interface controls with customer supplied equipment and communication networks.
-Design includes selection of components, preparation of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, electrical schematic and panel assembly drawings, creation of Bills of Material, and preparation of submittal documents for customer approval.
-Programming includes creation of control logic based on similar projects, configuration of HMI screens, testing, and de-bugging of completed panel assemblies. The ability to work with control hardware from multiple manufacturers and control platforms is essential.
-Commissioning includes travel to jobsite, inspection of installation, configuration of instruments, testing and tuning of control systems, and training operators.
-Provide liaison with vendors and customers, coordination of project requirements, engineering calculations as required for verification of design, and coordination of purchasing with customer and vendor requirements.
-Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.
Desired Attributes: Requires a detail oriented individual with good skills in dealing with people, independent thinking, hands-on troubleshooting, and analytical ability. The ability to understand mechanical equipment and process characteristics as well as electrical and control systems is essential.
Fluency in Korean is desired
